Dear Bulldog Families,

As we look forward to a new and exciting school year, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for your ongoing support and commitment to our school community. Together, we play a vital role in fostering an environment where our children can excel academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year, we are excited to continue our programs and initiatives designed to enhance our curriculum and cater to our students' diverse learning needs. Our collaboration with Turnaround Arts will further enrich our lesson lab through arts integration, and we will maintain our ARTS Pathway program for students in grades 6 through 8. We are also proud to have been recognized with the 2025 Exemplary Active School Award from Turnaround Arts California last year, highlighting our exceptional leadership in arts integration and our commitment to outstanding arts programming.

In addition, we will continue our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives to cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment where all students feel safe and valued. We are honored to have achieved Gold Certification status from California PBIS last year. Furthermore, our school is proudly certified in AVID implementation, which equips our students with the essential skills for success in college and subsequent higher education.

Effective communication and collaboration between home and school are crucial to our students’ success. I encourage you to remain actively involved in your child’s education. Whether it’s attending parent-teacher conferences, volunteering in the classroom, participating in school events, or joining our Coffee Hour and ELAC meetings, your engagement makes a meaningful impact.

Safety continues to be our top priority. We are dedicated to providing a secure environment for our students and staff while fostering a culture of inclusivity and respect. We have implemented a comprehensive safety plan and emergency response measures to ensure this. Additionally, SUSD has established a cellphone policy that takes effect this school year, with no cell phones allowed for students from gate to gate. For more details, please visit the SUSD website regarding electronic device usage.

I eagerly anticipate a year filled with opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. Together, let’s inspire our students to reach their fullest potential and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.

Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. Here’s to a remarkable school year ahead!

Best Regards,
